V Weeks of V: Protest Sign Contest

March 29th, 2012

With our Rebel Poetry Contest Winner selected it’s time to push on. There are four Guy Fawkes masks left and they aren’t going to give themselves away. The contests keep rolling and there’s plenty of opportunity left to win a mask of your own. The Make Me A Rebel contest is still open and you’ll win a custom Rebel Avatar just for entering. To enter just tell us what makes you a Rebel. The best story wins a mask at the end of the five weeks, but every story wins a custom avatar.

For this week’s V contest we’re really going to test your creativity. Here are the details.

We put together the weirdest Guy Fawkers we could find and blanked out their picket signs. I call them “Fawkes News,” “Granny Fawkes” and “Sailor V.” If you want to win your own V mask you’ve got to demonstrate that you know how to write a good protest sign. So what’s it going to be? You can do one or all three. Extra points if you Photoshop it yourself. We’re looking for funny.

Like always you can enter by posting in the comments section below. Or you can post on  or drop us .  We’ll announce the winner next Thursday when we launch the next contest.

About the Author: Davi Barker

In grade school Davi refused to recite the pledge of allegiance because he didn't understand what it meant. He was ordered to do as he was told. In college he spent hours scouring through the congressional record trying to understand this strange machine. That's where he discovered Dr. Ron Paul. In 2007 he joined the End The Fed movement and found a political home with the libertarians. The Declaration of Independence claims that the government derives its power “from the consent of the governed." He does not consent.
