V Weeks of V: Silver Transaction Contest

April 5th, 2012

Two contests down and three two go. We have our Protest Sign Contest Winner and we’re moving on. If you want to win a Guy Fawkes mask stick around because we’re giving away three more. Plus you can still get a custom Rebel Avatar by submitting a picture and a story to our Make Me A Rebel contest. Every entry gets a custom avatar, but the best story wins the final contest at the end of V Weeks of V.

For this week’s V contest we’re asking readers to get off their couch, grab a piece of silver out of their secret stash, and take to the street. Here are the details.

As Megan, our marketing genius, explains, we want to know what happens when you try to spend silver into the economy. Have you ever tried to buy a cup of coffee for Mercury dime? Have you ever offered to trade a troy ounce for a hot meal? How did people react? We want to hear about it. We don’t care if you’re using Silver Circle Rebel Rounds, or Shire Silver or whatever. And we don’t particularly care if the transaction was successful or not. It’s all in the story telling. So, tell us about a past experience, or head out this weekend and give it a try. If you’re feeling really ambitious grab a video camera. We’ll take whatever you’ve got, audio, video, picture or text.

Like always you can enter by posting in the comments section below. Or you can post on  or drop us .  We’ll announce the winner next Thursday when we launch the next contest.

As always you can order Rebel Rounds today while supplies last!

About the Author: Davi Barker

In grade school Davi refused to recite the pledge of allegiance because he didn't understand what it meant. He was ordered to do as he was told. In college he spent hours scouring through the congressional record trying to understand this strange machine. That's where he discovered Dr. Ron Paul. In 2007 he joined the End The Fed movement and found a political home with the libertarians. The Declaration of Independence claims that the government derives its power “from the consent of the governed." He does not consent.
