Doesn’t Look Like Sundance is Much for Animation

January 13th, 2012

We are submitting Silver Circle to the best of the best in film festivals because we believe in our project and the hard work that was put into it. The Sundance Film Festival was a little early for our release date, but we decided to submit a “work in progress” anyway, like many films do, in hopes they could see potential in our unique project. We were notified in early December that we did not make the cut for Sundance, but now the playlist has been released…and well, it looks like animation isn’t a focal point for Sundance’s festival picks.

Check out the Sundance Film Festival picks.

The closest to animation that I could find out of the top picks for Sundance, was Jack and Diane which will feature some animated clips throughout the film. So, our hearts are not broken. We have more film festivals ahead of us including South by Southwest (the jury is still out!), Telluride, and Toronto Film Festival. There are also a couple smaller festivals we’ll be participating in: Anthem Film Festival and Boston Comic Con 1st Annual Film Festival. As long as the rules and regulations serve us properly, we’ll be making quite a few appearances from April – on.

Cross your fingers and we’ll keep animating away. By the way, our new animators are awesome. I’ll introduce you to them soon when I report from behind the scenes of Silver Circle!
