Announcing Two New Weekly Features
June 1st, 2012Never let it be said that we aren’t responsive to reader feedback. Two weeks ago we posted a survey that asked you which of our weekly features was your favorite and 45% of you, very nearly half, said their favorite was Tin Foil Tuesday, our weekly conspiracy article. So, you can expect more of that in future. In fact, we’ll probably get a little weider. Thankfully we are bound by pesky things like journalistic integrity. We aren’t a news site. Our mission is primarily entertainment and advocacy. So, moving forward let’s talk chemtrails, let’s talk shadow government, let’s talk shapeshifting alien reptile bankers. I mean, why not? I’m from the Robert Anton Wilson school of conspiracy theory. As far as I’m concerned all conspiracies, no matter how tenuous, are true in some sense, false in some sense, and meaningless in some sense. And if recent history is any indication, the most deranged paranoid ramblings of street corner doom sayers ends up passed into law within a decade anyway.
But the thing about surveys is it’s never all good news. Sure something comes in first place, but inevitably something has to come in last place. In this case, it turns out our readers’ least favorite features are Movie Monday and Fed Friday. But we’ve cooked up a plan we think will remedy this tragic lack of enthusiasm.
To be clear, we’re not interpreting this survey to mean that our readers don’t want to read about movies and the Federal Reserve anymore. The data just doesn’t bear it out. Movie Monday and Fed Friday are often our highest traffic, most shared posts of the week. Not to mention Silver Circle is itself a movie about the Federal Reserve… so it would be strange occurrence if our regular readers were not interested in those topics. Instead, what we’ve decided, is that these features are too narrow in focus. So, to broaden their scope, and their appeal, we’ll be turning these features on their head.
From here on, effective immediately Movie Monday and Fed Friday will be replaced by Money Monday and Pop Friday.
Money Monday:
Our financial feature will be moved to the beginning of the week. You can still count on us to cover any big Federal Reserve news, but we’re going to broaden the topic to all things alternative currency. So, you can tune in Mondays for updates on the silver economy, agorism, BitCoin and signs of impending collapse of the US dollar.
Pop Friday:
Wrapping up the end of week, our film feature will now be just in time for the weekend. We’ll still be writing movie reviews, but we’re opening the topic up to all things pop culture. So, we’ll cover comic books, cartoons, viral internet memes, anime conventions… maybe even a little celebrity gossip if I can stomach it.
There. Now we have got some elbow room to give you features all week long as interesting and important as Tin Foil Tuesday. So, stick around. And keep the feedback coming.
