Cop Hits 4-Year-Old Girl With Motorcycle Then Kills Dad

August 23rd, 2012

So… this cop hits a 4-year-old girl with motorcycle, and then, when confronted by an understandably irate father, shot and killed the man.

Here’s the most important angle to me. The cop says Taniyah Middleton ”darted” into the street. But witnesses say she was crossing the street with an adult. The cop says he identified himself as an officer and then Taniyah’s father, Christopher Middleton hit him in the face before he shot and killed him. The witnesses say he did not identify himself as a cop. And here’s the most important point… The witnesses identified themselves and appeared on camera when the media showed up. The officer remains unidentified. Instead Pat Camden, a Spokesman from the Fraternal Order or Police, is making public comments on his behalf.

That doesn’t sound like someone taking responsibility for their actions to me. But if the incident ever sees any kind of trial you can rest assured the judge will take the officer’s testimony as gospel and the witnesses testimony will be ignored. That’s why the freedom to record police is so important.

About the Author: Davi Barker

In grade school Davi refused to recite the pledge of allegiance because he didn't understand what it meant. He was ordered to do as he was told. In college he spent hours scouring through the congressional record trying to understand this strange machine. That's where he discovered Dr. Ron Paul. In 2007 he joined the End The Fed movement and found a political home with the libertarians. The Declaration of Independence claims that the government derives its power “from the consent of the governed." He does not consent.
