Rebel of the Week: Rebelling Against Peers
October 6th, 2010Rebels don’t have to be aggressive, they don’t have to be loud. If you grew up in a straight laced home, to rebel you typically went hog wild through your teen years. If you grew up in a hog wild home, there’s a chance you could’ve been very studious. All of which are forms of rebellion: Resisting or defying an authority or a generally accepted convention. That’s why today I am giving a virtual Rebel medallion to this fine police officer for his performance in this situation.
The focus on unconstitutional law and bad cops has been swarming the web and shedding light on misconduct of law enforcement officials. I wouldn’t put myself in the camp of “cop hater” but due to the amount of ridiculous behavior I have witnessed in the past year it has been difficult to see the bright side of the law enforcement in this country.
Today, tears were brought to my eyes when I saw this video. It feels so good to be proven wrong in this particular situation. Being proved wrong is sometimes a good feeling. I believe there is an opportunity for redemption in everyone’s life, so even if you are skeptical about law enforcement officials, one day the ones who have behaved recklessly may come to their senses.
If you see this guy around pat him on the back, hell you can even call the (near my old home town, in case you were wondering) and send a message that you really appreciate the conduct of that officer that day. Congrats officer you are a brave Rebel!
