When Stealing Becomes Socially Acceptable
August 2nd, 2011Stealing is a crime, we know that. If you steal something from someone, you get arrested for violating the victim’s right to property. But does it count as stealing if somebody steals money from you, and then gives it to the less fortunate, a la Robin Hood?
Most of you would say “yes”, and you’d be correct. The truth is, this type of stealing is what the government does every day, when it wants to raise taxes on a certain group of “wealthy” individuals and gives it to the “less fortunate”, and vice versa.
