Celebrating 2011 With Silver Circle
December 29th, 2011We don’t need to tell you about how busy of a year it’s been. You’ve seen the newsletters, pictures, Tweets, and Facebook updates! But for our enjoyment and your informational curiosity I’ve compiled some AMAZING accomplishments we’ve made this past year. So reflect, feel the nostalgia set in, and celebrate with Silver Circle a tremendous year of filmmaking and film-marketing.
Way back in January , called a Money Bomb, to raise funds for our submission to Sundance Film Festival. In less than 24 hours we accumulated over $5,000 in donations from individuals all over the country. Although we didn’t make the cut into Sundance 2012, we are working towards South by Southwest…so there’s still a chance!
The following month we scored an amazing, in-person interview with THE Peter Schiff. The man who predicted the economic recession of 2007. He was such an inspiration when putting together the concepts of this film, and it was such an honor to have a chance to sit down with him, in his office, and chat about our economic collapse scenario in the film.
I would be lying if I said I didn’t have a great time at South by Southwest. The crew took off to Austin, TX for this event that is considered the new media empire of the Austin, TX, once a year. Artists, filmmakers, and fans from all over the world go to Austin for a life-changing experience. Silver Circle was at the center of the trade show and met tons of new fans, while learning all about the SXSW culture. We held a “mini-theater”, screening clips of the film and how we produce our animation.
We have began to perfect this pipeline throughout our experience in 2011, and we’re happy to say our production team is doing an awesome job and making great progress.
I know we can all agree that when March came, nothing was more refreshing and motivating than bringing our new render specialist, Jenna Montani, on board. Her perfectionist work and drive has made this production run more smoothly and she’s also brought a whole new level of humor with her obsession with Salad Fingers!
As the summer approached, way too quickly, we were amped up to know some of our core fans would be seeing never before seen clips from the movie as we trudged through the next line of animation. Porcfest was in sight and our liberty-hearts were filled with joy. Thanks again to such inspiring Rebels!
: pulling in over 2,000 new fan contacts, hosting a concert of The Last Internationale at our booth, and selling our awesome Chapter 1 print of Silver Circle.
Not to boast, but we’ve acquired some pretty impressive interviews through 2011. I’d like to point out just a few (and my personal favorites):
This is only the tip of the iceberg. We’ve had some amazing experiences during this full year of filmmaking. To wrap up 2011 we’ve brought on a new batch of animators: Jaime, Matt C, Matt M, Petr, and Diego…all of which you can meet on our crew page.
To Peace and Rebellion Everyone! I hope all our fans have a very Happy New Year…2012 will be the release of the film and fully-printed comic book. We are just as excited as you!
