Pop Friday: Ayn Rand’s First Time on TV

August 3rd, 2012

With the release of her novel gone Hollywood, I thought we’d pay homage, yet again, to an important voice to the liberty and pop-culture world. Her book, Atlas Shrugged, has been a top seller for decades. So today I thought I’d share some footage of Ayn Rand herself making an appearance on the Johnny Carson show back in 1967:

She spouts many of the famous themes from her books: no human has a right to another, rational self-interest, the state, etc. It’s times like these I value our technology. Five or so years ago this type of video may not have been available. So thank you Ayn Rand for the words that will live forever, and thank you YouTube and the generation who understands it for demanding more and more from this video hub!
