Luke Rudkowski Confronts Romney, Obama Reps About Kill Lists

October 24th, 2012

Rebel of the Week

There are those of us who find it terribly alarming that the President now has his own secret kill list. His administration has argued that the executive branch has the legal authority to kill and detain US citizens without a trial. This is one of the most radical and extreme anti human rights policies in the history of the US, and it has not been discussed for even one second during any of the debates between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama.

Luke Rudkowski is an activist and alternative media reporter from the organization We Are Change. For years, he has proven fearless when it comes to confronting world leaders and asking them tough questions. This week, he took it up a notch and questioned a wide range of policymakers and presidential campaign surrogates on the President’s secret kill list and the NDAA indefinite detention provision. Check out his interview with Romney surrogate and congressman Peter King below.

Taking the Heat: Getting Candidates on the Record on NDAA, Kill Lists

You may notice that, in the above video, Luke Rudkowski gets Rep Peter King to lash out in response to his question. “Al Awlaki should have been killed. If his kid was with him, that’s the breaks,” said King. The kid being referred to is Abdulrahman al-Awlaki, the 16-year old US citizen who was targeted for assassination on the President’s kill list. In his response, Peter King demonstrates that he believes that Abdulrahman was killed as collateral damage in a strike aimed at taking out his father. This is not the case. Abdulrahman was mistakenly listed in the kill list as a 21-year old militant and killed in a completely separate strike, on purpose.

Rudkowski also caught up with Obama surrogate and DNC chair Rep Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who dodged the question and pretended the programs do not exist. Unless she expects us to believe she’s never read the Huffington Post nor any of the foreign policy statements issued by the Obama administration, then it’s clear she’s being intellectually dishonest by pretending to be unaware of the subject of due process and how it relates to executive power.

Obama’s press secretary, Robert Gibbs, was unable to slip away. Rudkowski forced him to address the issue, and Gibbs indicated that Obama would be promoting the kill list as a success at the debate. When asked about the extrajudicial killing of 16-year old innocent American Abdulrahman al-Awlaki, he didn’t have anything to say.

Congressmen, Senators, a Governor, and Campaign Staffers All Held to Account

Luke Rudkowski released an unprecedented flurry of videos, getting statements from Senator Chuck Schumer, Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell, Obama campaign staffer David Axelrod, and former Congressman Tom Ridge. Check out all the fireworks as the politicians attempt to wriggle around this serious issue in the videos below.

Holding Their Feet to the Fire

Politicians are remarkably skilled at changing the subject and dodging serious issues. Americans are being killed without a trial, and the government is preparing to take the sweeping authority to detain them indefinitely without due process. This is what’s happening in the real world.

By confronting politicians on this issue, Luke Rudkowski is letting them know that the people are watching, and that ignoring our concerns will have electoral consequences. Now, these politicians can’t hide from this issue any longer — they’re on the record. For holding elected officials and campaign staffers to account and demanding they answer questions on the NDAA detention provision and Obama’s secret kill list, Luke Rudkowski has earned this week’s Rebel of the Week award.
