4 things you won’t want to miss at C2E2

April 26th, 2013

Silver Circle is returning to The Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo this year. Beginning today, the convention runs from April 26 to 28 in the West Building at McCormick Place in downtown Chicago. C2E2 celebrates the cutting edge of comics, movies, television, toys, anime, manga, video games and all things pop culture. The show floor is packed with hundreds of exhibitors, the schedule is full, and fans have an opportunity for a weekend chalked full of panels, autographs, screenings, and sneak peaks from all their favorite pop culture creators.

Those who saw Silver Circle at C2E2 2012 last year may remember our charming Director of Marketing, Megan Duffield pimping our work in progress. Well, now the film is done and she’ll be there, in signature End The Fed t-shirt, giving away 20 free tickets to our Chicago screening on Sunday, April 28th.

Here’s what we’re most excited about at C2E2

The Walking Dead

Remember, in an actual Zombie Apocalypse, go to a scuba supply store. While everyone else is fighting over ammunition that will inevitably run out, loot yourself a Kevlar shark diving suit. Zombies may be undead… but they have human teeth.

The Walking Dead is the leading example of success in indie comics with record breaking sales for the comic, and record breaking ratings for the TV adaptation. Three cast members from the much celebrated AMC series The Walking Dead are coming to C2E2.

Laurie Holden (Andrea) and and Chad Coleman (Tyreese) will be signing autographs Friday, 11:00 am – 7:00 pm. They will be joined by the young Chandler Riggs (Carl) on Saturday, 11:00 am – 7:00 pm. And Chandler will be sticking around Sunday, 11:00 am – 5:00 pm.

In addition Chad Coleman will be hosing his own Q&A, “Zombie Talk with Chad Coleman” Saturday, 8:15 pm – 9:15 pm.

Ron Perlman

Ron Perlman plays some of the coolest anti-heroes in cinema. From Hellboy to Sons of Anarchy, he is a prolific actor and all-around bad ass.

He’s got my all time favorite line from any movie in the Alien franchise. In Alien: Resurrection his character, Johner says, “You hang with us for a while, you’ll find out I am not the man with whom to fuck!” Because what’s more intimidating than a high strung, trigger happy mercenary who knows not to end a threat with a preposition?

Perlman is hosting his own Q&A on Saturday, 3:30pm – 4:30pm

Megan Duffield

You won’t find Megan on the event schedule, but she’ll be there on Saturday afternoon. You’ve got to look for her. She’ll be wearing the signature Silver Circle “END THE FED” t-shirt promoting the Chicago screenings of the Silver Circle Movie, and giving away 20 free tickets to the show.

Silver Circle is a film that lives in our world after massive economic collapse: tyranny, explosions, monetary mayhem, romance and Rebels. At the center of corruption is the Federal Reserve who has seized enormous control over America’s economy, with disastrous effects beginning to show. Standing opposite, is the band of Rebels who have vowed to take back the freedom they once knew… and they won’t go down without a fight.

Dorian Electra

Dorian Electra is a singer, song-writer, film-maker, and visual artist, known for especially unusual, creative works like pop music videos espousing the principles of Austrian economics and milk. And she’ll be coming the the 5pm screening of the Silver Circle Movie.

About the Author: Davi Barker

In grade school Davi refused to recite the pledge of allegiance because he didn't understand what it meant. He was ordered to do as he was told. In college he spent hours scouring through the congressional record trying to understand this strange machine. That's where he discovered Dr. Ron Paul. In 2007 he joined the End The Fed movement and found a political home with the libertarians. The Declaration of Independence claims that the government derives its power “from the consent of the governed." He does not consent.
