Precious Metalhead #9:

May 11th, 2011

Greetings from Silver Circle…  This is my monthly update and occasional rant as producer/director of the film – the month has flown by this time.

There’s a long way to go but it’s really taking shape.  We have an internal milestone for a very rough full-length cut next week, and will begin scoring, sound work, and facial animation from this basis.  Plus, we’re pushing hard to have some cool completed scenes to show at PorcFest on 6/23.

As you may have seen in our updates, we’ve engaged Stacey Parks to help formulate our distribution strategy – we putting together the master plan for festivals, theater release, plus online and DVD options, plus a separate comic book release.  Lots coming up this fall for sure.

Just as our silver rounds hit the markets at Del Valley, we finally got a break in the relentless rise in silver prices (dollar fall).  It could go up or down in the short term from here, but it’s clear that the underlying conditions of debt and pent-up money supply have not changed.  Based on some online discussions, in fact, I am wondering whether to update the financial situation in the movie to be worse… A lot has changed even since we locked the script last year.

We made some cool new friends over at Sons of Liberty Riders this month.  Awesome group, and lots of crossover between our work and theirs.  In fact, since at this point I’m totally tired of my own music collection I asked CJ from SOLR for some ideas for a metal song of the month.  He’s always finding crazy scottish pirate metal and things you’d never hear of.  So…  thanks to CJ this month’s band is Sabaton, a Swedish band who bases most of their work on classic WWI – WWII battles.  I know a lot of our fans are not military-oriented, but the focus here is on fighting tyranny.  So this month’s song is “Uprising” from Sabaton – About the Polish fighting Nazis..

Peace out everybody and we’ll get you a new update next month!

Pasha.
