Keep an Eye Out for the Rebel Inc Graffiti in ‘Silver Circle’

September 5th, 2013

Today is Easter Egg day, once again, when we discuss some of the hidden allusions and references that appear in Silver Circle. Keep your eyes peeled for them as you watch the movie online. This week’s egg honors , one of the amazing bands from the film’s soundtrack.

At two different points in the movie, graffiti art can be seen in the background which features the Rebel Inc logo — once on a road sign and again on the wall at a rest stop, both along the route to Baltimore. Meanwhile, in the real world, Rebel Inc just announced a bunch of new tour dates and has been getting significant airplay on satellite radio. Check out the band’s brand new music video for “Burn” below, and let’s reconvene afterwards to discuss the symbolism behind the Easter eggs.

The Symbolism Behind the Graffiti

Though Rebel Inc originally formed in Detroit, the band is currently based out of Baltimore, Maryland, a short distance from Washington DC. The Silver Circle plot takes place in the DC area. The film’s director Pasha Roberts had the graffiti installations placed along the route to Baltimore in honor of the band’s current home base.

Speaking of which, in real life, Rebel Inc just announced a bunch of . If you live in WV, PA, MD, VA, or OH, be sure to catch their set. They have an explosive live show that you won’t want to miss. Their sound blends funk, metal, punk, rock, hardcore, and hip hop with political protest themes. Fans of bands like Anti-Flag, Rise Against, and Rage Against the Machine will certainly dig their jams.

The Silver Circle Soundtrack

You can also hear Rebel Inc’s music in the movie, along with other amazing artists like Sons of Liberty, Jordan Page, The Last Internationale, and The Clinton Johnson Band. To paraphrase former US Congressman Ron Paul, you can’t have a revolution without music. Rebel Inc’s jams are the perfect accompaniment to the explosive action that Silver Circle delivers.

As the plot of the movie moves into Baltimore, keep an eye out for today’s Easter egg. In the Silver Circle universe, some Baltimore-based Rebel Inc street teamers seem to have been spray painting the band’s logo in visible locations along the route up from Washington DC. Vigilant viewers will notice the reference.

Also, in the real world, check out the band’s amazing new music video and upcoming tour dates. Rebel Inc has been getting airplay on satellite radio and may be poised to burst into the mainstream. We’re proud of their success and happy to have been able to include them in the film’s soundtrack.
