Pay No Attention to that Old Man With Two First Names
August 16th, 2011If you listened to the media coverage of the Presidential Debate and the Straw Poll these past few days, you’d be led to think that the race was Michelle Bachmann vs. Mitt Romney, which had been the case since the beginning. You’d also be likely to think, from watching the debate, that Newt Gingrich was the first one to call for auditing the Federal Reserve. All the media attention was on those few candidates who make up the “top-teir” of the field, but they always forget somebody.
The media continues to consider Rep. Ron Paul an outsider with no chance of winning the nomination, even though he finished in a tight second in the straw poll, and nearly 2,000 votes ahead of third-place finisher Tim Pawlenty, who dropped out of the race the next day. For the first time though, people outside the 24 hour news cycle are starting to notice the media blackout of Dr. Paul, especially as his campaign shows signs of strength.
This is a video from last night’s “Daily Show” over the media blackout, as seen on Daily Paul.
